History of Homestead House

Homestead House began operations in the western area of Birmingham in 1960.  For almost fifty years we have furnished homes in the Birmingham area, in various counties throughout the state of Alabama, and occasionally to homes out of state.  We have established relationships with many of the industry’s finest manufactures, and we pass extraordinary savings on to our customers.  We have become known as a source of interesting furniture and unusual home accessories.  Our reputation has been one of integrity, quality, value, and fairness to our customers.  We treat our customers like family.

Our goal is to continue to provide a variety of home furnishings that will suit a variety of tastes and to maintain the excellent relationships that we have developed with our customers.

At Homestead House, we offer a layaway option for your purchases.  With a small down payment and regular monthly payments, we can easily accommodate your timetable for large purchases.

Homestead House Can Order Merchandise to Suit Your Needs

In addition to the large selection of items we maintain on our showroom floor and in our warehouse, we can also order most items if we do not have exactly what you are looking for.  We have an extensive library of catalogs and fabric swatches from many vendors that you can browse through and can select from.  You may wish to order a special fabric or special finish for a piece of furniture. 

In addition, if you locate an item in another store or on a website, we will be happy to attempt to obtain that item for you.  We will also help you locate a very similar item if we cannot obtain the exact item you were initially looking for.
